DataKirk Digital Sistas | First Steps

A Night of Inspiration, Connection, and Purpose

I had the profound honour of co-hosting the DataKirk Digital Sistas (DDS) Launch Event, supported by my research lab, the Futures & Analytics Research Hub, and Edinburgh Napier University.

Our launch resonated with so many more than I had anticipated; inspiring women from all over the world and just a varied in professions and expertise, and yet all united by a common purpose. It was deeply moving to be invited to be at the very start of a movement dedicated to ensuring that no woman is left behind in this digital landscape we call modern life.

This is exactly why I am so excited about what DataKirk Digital Sistas is building. It’s a space where women can learn, connect, develop skills and flourish. It is a community that actively champions women into leadership positions through networks, visibility, advocacy, and tangible opportunity. It is a movement that supports women at every step, every stage, every triumph, and when needed, serves as a safety net along the way, because creating future leaders requires more than advice. It requires people willing to champion women. And when that happens, the impact extends far beyond individuals; it helps build stronger, more sustainable societies, and more inclusive futures for everyone.

What does your support system look like?

The answer for the many sistas who came to the launch is now clearer than ever. We are leaning on each other, building bridges, and creating lasting legacies along the way.
