4th International conference on Scenario Planning and Foresight

Our team is excited to join the planning committee for the 4th International Scenario Planning and Foresight Conference. This year’s theme is Making Connections. The event is dedicated to navigating uncertainty and building stronger futures. Discover how scenario planning helps organisations, explore alternatives futures, test assumptions and make better long-term decisions.

The conference is a joint event between the OR Society and Warwick Business School, where this year’s conference will be held. If you’ve never been to the Warwick campus, we highly recommend. It’s a sprawling campus, tucked away on the edge of the woods, between Coventry and Warwick, with beautiful views, wilderness bike trails, and larger than life sculptures hidden throughout the area.

This year, we will host a series of workshops aimed at advancing our theme, Making Connections. There will be a Bodega Sandbox, where practitioners, academics, experts and doctoral students will come together to build strategies for the future of scenario planning and foresight disciplines. A writing workshop will support those interested in submitting to our Special Issue in the journal Technology in Society. And a bonus workshop around communicating work outside your field.

We have a stellar line up of keynote speakers this year, as well:

💡Paul Schoemaker, global leader in scenario planning and part of the Royal Dutch/Shell’s scenario planning group.
💡Ted Fuller, Professor Emeritus and holder of the UNESCO Chair on Responsible Foresight for Sustainable Development.
💡Valdir Ermida, Head of Planning at the Evandro Chagas National Institute of Infectious Diseases/Fiocruz in Brazil.
